Good advertising - most companies tempt you to come and buy. Jaguar goes a step further and tempts by coming to you first.
Now, I don't mean that as merely sending a letter by circular mail to potential customers. What I'm talking about is the content within this letter. Contained in what I received were two major things - a photograph and some writing, of which there is an extract below:
We're sure you deserve the perfect luxury ride. At the same time, we know our flagship XJ belongs in most exclusive homes. As illustrated consummately by this picture! To celebrate this union, will be offering our 3 Year Maintenance Care Plus Offer to you for free upon purchase.
What Jaguar has done here is taken a white XJ and parked it in front of my apartment block - purely to illustrate the literal appearance of a Jaaaag in the driveway, should I buy one in the future.
I've examined the photograph as well as my amateur eyes permit me - as far as I can tell, there's no Photoshop. The reflection of the buildings seem accurately reflected on that aluminium body and sleek glass. If that's not good advertising, I don't know what is.
Jaguar's been on an absolute roll lately, especially with their #GoodToBeBad advertising campaign. It was so good that the glorious F-Type ft. Tom Hiddleston advert reduced my friend to whimpers as she watched and listened. And to that, I salute you Jaguar. I can't wait for the new XE commercials!

That's a little bit creepy. "We know where you live, and think a Jag would look good in your drive. See? We tested it."

Oops - I neglected to mention that this was circular mail.

a Porsche dealer did the same a few years ago.

How does it feel to be stalked by a low-volume automobile manufacturer?

What's circular mail?

Quite nice actually - for once I'm relevant...

If it was a classic Jaaaaag you've have noticed that they did this by the large puddle of fluids left outside your flat and the divots from the jack stands.

It's mail that's sent to a common address, with The Occupant written instead of one's name. In this case, it was sent to every individual apartment in the block.

I've heard pretty good things about Pfaff. Not enough to have a 16 year old walk into a Porsche dealer, but good things.

That's a little less creepy then.

I know someone who bought a Cayman from them, he tells me he always gets invitations for track events.

That's neat! I figure if you do buy a Porsche you might as well know what it's capable of.

Lol I was just gonna link that. I bet more than a few people were creeped out by this...

ehh. Pfaff is awesome...right up until you've signed the check. Their service department was the WORST one in history. Granted, this was 5 years ago, but still.
